The launch seems successful; the flight goes smoothly; the communication appears clear; then suddenly, those unmistakable, sinking words spring forth from the cockpit: “Houston, we have a problem.”
Similarly, the initial days of salvation are unbelievable, the pathway is pleasant, the interaction with the Lord consistent, then suddenly the desperate cry: “Help!”
Heart disease is the number one killer in America. Yet far worse than that, spiritual heart disease is the killer in life. Too often, we ignore the signs and minimize the warnings until we find ourselves in desperate straights and in precarious situations. “Why did I wait so long? How did I get myself into such a mess?”
There’s hope and it comes from the Heart Doctor. The One who commands you to love Him with all your heart is the One who steps in and restores. Is the patient ready? It’s time for a heart checkup.
