A Minute With Pastor — 04/12/2009
Had a rough week recently? Were you glad it’s over? How recently have you had those thoughts? If anyone could have justifiably thought that way, it would have been Jesus. What began as a triumphal entry amidst the waving of palm branches ended with His triumphal exit amidst the waving of angry fists.
A chicken and a pig were walking down the road one day. Passing by a restaurant, they noticed a sign, “Today’s special: Ham and eggs, $1.25!” The chicken looked at the pig and announced, “Isn’t it great that we can help out society like this?” The pig responded, “For you it’s a contribution, for me it’s a sacrifice!”
Christ’s death on a cross wasn’t some appeasement or token, it was a sacrifice — a giving of His sinless life for your sinful life. As King of kings, Lord of lords, and Creator of the world, He laid down His life as a substitute for you. Is this Savior your personal Savior?
