A Minute With Pastor — 06/28/2009

It’s the big day.  The president is coming to town and you will actually have a brief moment to talk with him.  How cool!  How frightful!  You can be sure that you will be guarded and cautious with what you say.  You’ll be respectful and grateful.  After all, he’s the president.

How would you respond if God came to your town. Actually, He does every time you enter into prayer with Him.  But when you do, does guardedness and caution resonate from within you?  Does respect and gratefulness flow from your lips?  After all, He’s President of the universe.

Could it be we’ve forgotten the audience of One we have with God in prayer?  Could it be that our posture is one of disrespect or distraction?  Could it be we look at prayer as a checking off of our needs and not a concern for His glory?   Could it be we’ve discounted His holy hatred for sin?  After all, He’s the President!
