When is the last time you looked in the mirror?  An hour ago?  This morning?  What did you see?  Why me, of course!  Did you notice anything different in the mirror?  Of course not, silly.  It’s a mirror image.

There’s a far greater mirror to which you have been called to examine yourself – the mirror of God’s Word (James 1:23-25).  But when you look into this mirror, you see the image of Christ.  Is that image similar to yours?  Likely there are some differences, which provide you opportunities to grow to become more like that picture of Christ (Romans 8:29).

So, when is the last time you looked in the mirror — the mirror of God’s Word.  Start noticing what areas need some work and what issues need to be addressed.  Be encouraged, for “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it” (Phil. 1:6).  However, it’s not one-sided: “Work out your own salvation” (Phil. 2:12).
