A Minute With Pastor — 09/13/2009

Pressure?  Tell me about it!  I’ve got a term paper due in two days and a major quiz in three days.  Oh yeah?  I’ve got a work presentation for a two-month project this week and we still don’t have the research finished?  I can top that!  I have three kids under the age of five, all of whom are sick and whining!

Pressure comes in many forms and from many angles.  But the ultimate pressure is that which the world exerts to conform us to its image.  The Christian, however, has been called to conform to another image, that of Christ (Romans 8:29; 12:2).  That’s just what the entrance of pressure can do as God not only allows it, but orchestrates it into the fabric of life to strengthen your faith in Him and weaken your reliance upon self.

Feeling under pressure?  Then come under His authority and leadership as He works to complete His good will in you (Philippians 1:6).
