A Minute With Pastor — 09/27/2009

“Go ahead, cross that line and see what I do!”  Thinking ourselves to be courageous, we’re a bit surprised when the person crosses that line.  “Oh yeah, well then cross this line,” as we draw still another line.

In the name of tolerance (and perhaps apathy), the line we drew in the sand seems to be moving as the times change.  What once we held firm convictions about has slowly and subtly eroded through the years.  While our preferences do move around on the chart, our convictions in God’s Word should only deepen, not lessen.  They should grow stronger, not more shallow.

Daniel and his friends, though deported victims in a heathen land led by a heathen king surrounded by heathen beliefs, drew a line in the sand.  They were not going to compromise before their God.  What about you?  Have you drawn the line or do you find yourself moving the line?  Is it time to take a stand?
