A Minute With Pastor — 10/11/2009

Watching a piece of paper blow around in the wind is much like a person without conviction.  He is tossed about by everything and never sinks his anchor into anything.  He waffles and he waddles and though he may not have a great fall like Humpty-Dumpty, he also won’t have a great spiritual harvest in this life.

What about you?  Are you drawing a godly line in the sands of life and choosing not to regularly move it?  Or, are you ready to erase the mark and draw another one at a moment’s notice?  The tolerance movement certainly hasn’t encouraged the making of convictions.

The sinless Son, the virgin birth, a bodily resurrection, salvation by faith alone, the deity of Christ, inerrancy of scripture, future judgment, reality of hell – this is only the starting point.  How far have you moved on from here?  Live with conviction – but make sure it is clearly defendable in scripture and lived with grace!
