A Minute With Pastor — 10/18/2009
No doubt the world is confused about God’s relationship with humanity. Humorous movies like the more recent “Evan Almighty” and the older “Heaven Can Wait” cast a view of God as the sweet grandfather next door. Other Disney movies and shows tend to present Him as a genie who offers wishes. And still other media outlets present Him as the “big guy” upstairs.
Yet our God is SO much more. He is infinite, yet He chose to condescend to earth and “fit” Himself into a human body for 30 years. He is all-powerful, yet He chose to leave His Son dead in the tomb for three days. And He is all-knowing, yet He chooses not to remember your forgiven sins.
This is the God who chose to meet the very humanity He created – up close and in person through His Son. He reached out His hand in love while we were yet lost and dying sinners. Have you responded yet?
