What does God look like? Thanks to Scripture, we are given these insights just from the Psalms:
His eyes behold, His eyelids test (11:4)
His lips brought forth the word (17:4)
His face is righteous (17:15)
His nostrils sent forth smoke (18:8)
His feet stood on darkness (18:9)
His mouth breathed forth creation (33:6)
His wings are a shadow of protection (36:7)
God allowed the writers of Scripture to assign to Him human parts and faculties, although He Himself is Spirit and His thoughts cannot be counted (Ps. 36:7). That is, He allows us to identify personally with an infinite, incomprehensible God. How amazing is that! And yet, be careful that you do not shrink Him to the size of man. How big is your God!!
