There are many annoying things in life – loud snoring, slow drivers, drippy faucets, dial-up internet – but one in particular inserts itself into the picture, literally! When you’re watching a good television movie and just at the point of something shocking, the network breaks in with a commercial. Gads! You mean I’ve got to wait while I hear a word from the sponsor(s)?
That annoyance was a bit what a certain king experienced in the Old Testament. No, he didn’t have television, but he was living the dream until a certain God-delivered dream made its intrusion into his life. This interruption from God tormented the king. This dream was a word from the Sponsor, the gracious giver of life. Little did King Nebuchadnezzar realize at the time what such an initial annoyance would mean.
Next time an interruption or annoyance appears, perhaps there’s more than meets the eye. Don’t miss it!
