A Minute With Pastor – 12/21/2008

There’s no place like home.  Many of us have lived in several houses and even different states, but we never really forget the home we were born in and spent at least the early part of our life in.  It seems only right that the little town of Bethlehem should receive some attention at this time of the year as the birthplace of the babe born in a manger.

Yet as noteworthy a place as Bethlehem is in the Bible, it is the people and ultimately, the Person which makes Bethlehem special.  So too, it is not heaven but the almighty God which makes heaven special, and it is not the building but the body of saints and more particularly, the Head who is Christ which makes the church special.

Yes, there’s no place like home!  But when you move aside the hay, shepherds and animals that typically surround Bethlehem, there was a Savoir born that day!
