Youth
IMPACT for Teens
WHY BOTHER…
There seems to be a prevailing opinion that the church is no longer meaningful for youth today. Many teens feel that the church is BORING, IRRELEVANT, and just plain OLD Fashioned. But God has a totally different view of teens and church. God intended the church to be a living organism, a body where everyone, including teens, can connect with each other and find purpose and peace.
In today’s society, it isn’t difficult to see that the youth of today are searching for something. The answer to that search is found in the Person of Jesus Christ. IMPACT is the youth ministry of Fellowship Baptist Church and is helping teens find that vital relationship with Jesus Christ while affording substantial spiritual opportunities for growth and maturity.
PURPOSE OF IMPACT
The purpose of IMPACT for teens is to HONOR God with our life, to provide opportunities to CONNECT with other believers, to REACH out to non-believing teens, to help DISCOVER the gifts, talents and abilities God has given, and to help them GROW in their faith.
IMPACT allows you to build GODLY HABITS by:
- Memorizing Scripture
- Devotionals to help you grow
- Accountability to keep you from making bad decisions
- Involvement through ministry to help you serve
- Prayer time to talk with God
PROGRAMS of IMPACT
The first key to IMPACT is SUNDAY SCHOOL (Sunday Mornings). Sunday School offers the opportunity to understand key Biblical concepts and doctrines that help each teen develop a deeper understanding and love for the Word of God. The curriculum of Sunday School is directly related to the Devotions that each teen has the opportunity to participate in. The second component of Impact is CARE GROUP (2nd and 3rd Sunday Evening). One of the most popular times, REFILL (1st and 5th Sundays) is a non-threatening way to help teens REACH out to their friends to introduce them to Christ and the youth ministry at Fellowship Baptist Church. Q & A NIGHT occurs on the 4th Sunday and gives teens the opportunity to have their questions answered. Junior High and Senior High are separated during CARE GROUP and Q & A NIGHT.
IMPACT also offers monthly activities to promote fellowship with and encouragement to each teen as they interact with their peers in a safe and spiritually sound environment were teens build lasting friendships with other believers.
The teen ministry at Fellowship Baptist Church is a true partnership between the church and the parents. It is our hope that together we can help every teen be drawn closer in their relationship with God, so your participation as parents is vital.
