Growing up on the mission field of Brazil, God directed Cynthia to return there, which she did as a single, young lady in 2012. Little did she know that as she began serving in Sao Paulo, He was also at work in a single young man named Odir, who was studying in a seminary there.
Fast forwarding to the present, Odir and Cynthia Brandao have a little boy (David Ezra) on the way with an expected arrival of December, 2017. They left for the United States in early September and will be here until the end of February, 2018. Odir is applying for a Green Card and US citizenship and with other important documentation, this will enable them to continue ministry with ABWE in Sao Paulo.
While here on a shorter stay and then a longer one later in 2018, they will meet with supporting churches and seek to schedule additional ones to raise the extra support needs they now have.
Their home church is Dayspring in Galloway, where Cynthia’s mother serves. They will use her residence as their “home base” while they are stateside. Together, they have been actively involved in the youth ministry of their Brazilian church (New Life Baptist) as well as many teaching opportunities.
We welcome the Brandaos to our church this Sunday, October 15, as they share their passion for Brazil and the ministry God has put before them.
