Oh how precious. What beautiful features she has. Her eyes are just like her mother’s. She has her father’s dark hair. What an amazing gift from God to you.
The birth of a baby is incredible. For nine months this miracle grows in the mother’s womb and now presents herself to anxious, expectant parents. They will become this baby’s necessary and constant care.
Think about this infant. She is completely dependent on her parents for absolutely everything. Without help, she will not survive. She needs them to feed her, change her, move her, dress her, protect her, and even burp her. Without 24/7 assistance, she cannot make it on her own.
Now think about this. Man arrives as a sinner and he can do absolutely nothing righteous in God’s eyes (Isaiah 64:6). He will not move toward or seek after God (Romans 3:11). Every thought of his own heart is only evil (Genesis 6:5) and deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9). He is spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1), follows Satan (2:2) and is under the wrath of God (2:3).
Do you get the idea that as an infant baby is physically, so too a man is spiritually? Without help – great help – neither will survive. Thank God that He stepped into time to save the day. Jesus is the great Rescuer. Have you experienced His rescue?
