Every week, football teams across the country spend an entire week planning for the next game. Hours and hours of practice, running through new plays, addressing weaknesses, enhancing strengths, increasing focus, building comradery, gaining momentum, and getting healthy. Perhaps most importantly, strategizing for the team they will next face.
Every day you wake up and enter your world. You step into a spiritual battle zone behind enemy lines (for this world is temporarily under the control of Satan) and have a mission to accomplish: Shine your light into the darkness. While the opponent may be different each week for the football team, the Christian’s remains the same – Satan.
He has blinded the minds of unbelievers (2 Corinthians 4:4), which hinders our task to witness; nevertheless, we are ambassadors of Christ (5:20) with a message of grace and hope that enables blind people to see and lost people to be found.
As you interact with unbelievers, what’s your strategy? What blueprint do you have in order to minister to the unsaved? Or do you simply “wing it” when opportunity comes knocking?
Thankfully, we don’t need to be in the dark! Our Lord supplies a game plan to have as we engage with darkness – even when such darkness may be antagonistic. Why not try it?
