Some have said that you do not have to go to church to worship God. Similarly, you do not need to experience something mountain-moving to glorify God. He ought to be revered and honored every moment of every day.
Why? Because He brought you into this world. Yes, He worked through your earthly birth parents, but it is God who decreed your existence before even earth existed. Every beat of your heart is under His divine sovereignty. He knows your first breath as well as when your very last breath occurs. He has prepared a place for all of His redeemed. He is so personal that He dwells within every believer. He hasn’t left us to figure out life on our own understanding but has preserved His Word for us.
All of this and so much more provides ample reason to glorify God. Though broad is the path and wide is the gate to destruction, He offers the gift of eternal life to all who will believe in Him alone. Each new day avails us of deflecting the praise to Him, of using our good works to shine the attention upon Him. We have the privilege of pointing the spotlight on Him, even when it’s tempting to take it ourselves.
May we heed the wise exhortation of 1 Corinthians 10:31, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” Today, right now, let’s glorify God! There is no better choice for the believer.
